hey chanito, im assuming yuo've got an 85 jet with some needle shim? just asking b/c i just built a "rain-resistant" setup like yours except it comes right out 90 from the carb and sits right next to the bracket on the variator cover. my ruck wont go over about 45 now with out a little sputter, but i used to have a bss open filter that u could take off and it wouldnt run funny. i put a bigger jet in and its rich. the plug dousnt look rich to me, but would you think a k&n thats close to the size you've got would make a restriction more than the bss one? or maybe the intake isnt long enough? have you messed with length on yours? sorry for the ramble and ill get some pics in the morning.

Yes right now i have an 85 with a 1mm shim, i used a 90 in the winter, and pick up was a little better, so i am planing to cut some coils from the diaphragm spring, the piping is 1 and 5/8 inches so it should flow way more than the BSS one which use the factory rubber intake hose, it just replace the filter housing. I played with the length of the intake but did not notice any performance difference so i stuck to the best looking length

yeah, thats what im running. im at about 1000 feet but temp is about the same. im gonna put my stock rear wheel back on today b/c of tire sizes. maybe the engine is just revving real high now ive got a cdi, so it doesnt have a rev limiter, i can hear a slight popping now at about 45, but it might have done it before but i can hear it from the intake now. im gonna go ride it some more today and let u know what happened.

ok im stoopid by the way, dont put a lot of oil on new k+n filters they dont work good like that i cleaned the filter and reinstalled, works fine now. metal stuff not powdercoated---yet ;D theres a small shield from a chevy starter i tacked on to make a little fender/shield thing. k+n part # on the filter is 62-1515 it has a heatshield thing built onto the chrome top that goes halfway around the filter. i will probably be testing the water-resistance later in the week but im not going out looking for some water to ride in ill let u know how it works. hey should i powdercoat this thing black or what color?

[glow=red,2,300]"ok im stoopid by the way, dont put a lot of oil on new k+n filters they dont work good like that i cleaned the filter and reinstalled, works fine now." [/glow] I'm stupid too.I soaked the bejaybers outta mine and the engine wouldn't even run.I stuffed paper towel inside and blew the oil thru from the outside. It's still impregnated with oil and will catch the fine stuff but it passes air as if the is no restriction at all. Probably not the healthiest thing to do,but you can test it by pressing it around your mouth and seeing how easy it is to breath. If you can breath freely,so can your engine

So i just started making this kit again, i have to do a how to on the brakets, one for the pipe that holds the air filter and also holds the rear fender and my new and improved one that holds the pair valve. Does any can can tell me the size of the hose that feeds fresh air to the pcv solenoid under the seat, Is it the same size as the one that feed fresh air to the carburator bowl or the size of the hose that comes from the valve cover? I need this info for the '06 and later ruckii

I can get that info for you but it'll be a couple days because my Ruck is stored at my in-laws place. This hose is close in size to the one that comes from the valve cover...but I think it's a bit smaller. I'll check this weekend if no one posts the answer before then.

I can't see exactly whayt you did with the pair valve thingy here Chanito.... What did you do?. I took the pair valve out of the filter housing, there is a hose that goes from the side of the gastank to the filter housing, then this air get filtered by his own little filter insixde the filter housing and gets to the pair valve via a short hose, what i did was put the hose straoight from the side of the gas tank into the pair valve

The muffler is made by a friend in Taiwan and imported to Vancouver. Its made for a 125cc 4 stroke but works great on my 50cc. The only prob is, it needs a pipe made exactly like the stock one. The pipe that came with it was too large in diameter and did not curve in the correct way to wrap around the radiator etc. It had to be cut and re-welded to work properly. If you know of anyone who can make a stock pipe replica, it would be a smokin system (no pun intended). I'll try and get some more close up pics of the connection from muffler to pipe. I don't know how much he sells them for as I got it at cost. I'm kind testing it for him. If you want to contact him his name is Wayne and he can tell you more about it. His e-mail is scooter@jiangwayne.com By the way, they come in a few different colours. Tell him i sent you. Ruckass I'm considering fabricating a canister slip on which will utilize the stock headpipe, This is really a dead simple process and ive done it before for about $30, and that is materials ANd getting the loical tinsmith guy to roll and seam the sheet material for me. any interest? whose design should i steal...i mean clone?

Did you ever come up with a way to post pics and explain in more detail? I just bought an aftermarket filter as well and need to reconfigure the plumbing. It is a K&N type and that old box has to comeoff for it mount...right? thanks!

For the new guy, You need to have a vaccum hose from the intake to the carb or it will not run right. Search on here on how to put on a aftermarket intake. It will show diagrams on where to put the hoses and filters.
