i thought backfiring is due to overly rich! If you've got a trained ear (and a loud aftermarket pipe) you can tell if you're rich or lean by the sound of the exhaust. I'd describe the sound of a rich engine as muffled, flat, quieter, more of a duller, lower noise where as a lean engine is a sharper, harsher, more popping sound. If you're really rich and obviously losing power then it sounds like a dull bogging sound whereas being way too lean gives you a more clear, cutting out sound that does sound somewhat like backfiring.

Yeah, if i go up to a 38-95 it doesnt run as fast.... if i run a 40-82 its horrible....... i even tried a 42-82... better than the 40-82, not by much...... Its not popping when i accelerate..... its only popped when the overheats, and i flick it off and back on
