I think that the 7.2g weights is a great start for you. Also, here's something to note, with my Ruck, I need to warm it up with about 10-15 minutes of wide open throttle riding before I can reach top speed with the Polini (40mph and it purrs). So I suggest you do that too, get a nice long ride in. THEN, you do an excellent experiment! Since you want to see the difference the rollers make, you and your wife should do 0-30mph timed runs! Hypothetically, since you need heavy rollers, you should get better times with the 7.2g weights than your wife. Then, switch out the rollers to all smaller, or perhaps do half and half, and time those runs. Then, with all that, you should be able to know first hand how important "tuning" your rollers is for yourself and your Ruckus. ALSO MAN, it is very important to make sure when you reassemble your variator that you line up the splines!!! Please read the ENITRE thread below thoroughly before Variator install. If you do it incorrectly, your wife will want to kill you cause it might just cost some major $$$ to fix: www.battlescooter.proboards27.com/index.cgi?board=howto&action=display&thread=1141938456You will also need to create a Variator Tool for the install, they are easy and cheap, it takes about $10 and at trip to home depot, here's a little how-to: totalruckus.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=581

normally, the lighter rider will have an advantage no matter what the rollers are, the problem is a lighter rider can get away with using lighter rollers (better acceleration) without losing top speed, the same lighter weights will not allow a heavier rider to get to top speed, so the tunning is: How light a roller can i use without losing yop speed? Mixing weight and playing with different combination is a way to detemine my ideal roller weight, eventually you want all 6 weights to be the same, as using mix weights put more wear on the heavier ones

Yeah chanito knows! Even if your 7.2g weights aren't ideal for her, she'll still be accelerating faster than you because of the big weight advantage. Also, don't stress yourself out too much trying to find the lightest weights that work....the difference between say 6.0g and 6.5g is not going to be a radical difference so it makes sense to just play it safe a go a smidge heavier than you can maybe get away with so that you don't have to worry about losing your top end and so you don't have keep replacing the weights until you find the perfect ones.

i have a 2018 50cc honda ruckus that is slow and was wondering if i removed the govener would that make it faster and how hard is it Hi Tom, hate to tell you this but the 2018 Rucks aren't restricted. If you want to spend the money you can buy the stage 2 kit from the ruck shop for around 600usd if I'm remembering correctly, they claim it will make any ruck do 50MPH. If you don't have the money for that quick fix try shaving your variator a bit (info is in the forum) and that could net you a couple MPH. This forum is full of great information, you just gotta find it!
