This is a repost of a post I have over on totalruckus. Haven't gotten any thoughts on this update on my situation. I have never posted here but I've lurked and read some helpful info. As you can see I do own a Chaniito windshield!
So My ruckus has been running slow since I got it out a few weeks ago. I ran it with bad gas and as has been suggested I cleaned the carb completely disassembling it and cleaned the jets. I also replaced the fuel filter and air filter. After all this I can still barely hit 8100 RPMs on a flat. I used to be able to hit the limiter or come close. I am running a mix of 4.9 and 5.5 g sliders. The only other thing that changed is close to before winter I replaced the stock belt with a Daytona. The Daytona maybe has about 80 miles on it. Does the stock belt just work better for some people? Any other ideas? I still have the stock belt and may throw it back in to check, it has about 1400 miles on it.
*Update- bando actually did help. Getting about 100-200 more rpms. Maybe I need 4.5 g sliders now?? Also found out the throttle cable is still not right since it wants to take off when it's on the stand after being ridden for a bit.
It was behaving like this before I took the carb out and cleaned it.
*update 2- got the throttle cable adjusted properly, (I think?), it was kind of embarrassing how it was on. Notice how my lights dim though at idle, this normal?
And is it normal for RPMS to jump like this? It had been idling for 7 minutes.

Yes, it is normal for the lights to dim at idle. It might sound silly, but check your oil level and tire pressure, those are the main culprit on slow ruckii. Also check you carburetor and make sure the throttle cable is giving you full opening at full open throttle

Good to know on the lights. The oil level is about 80% covering the lines on the diptstick. Think that could cause problems? I'll check the throttle cable as well. Thanks!

Also check you carburetor and make sure the throttle cable is giving you full opening at full open throttle I think I'm getting full open. Tires are good, the oil level is now perfectly at half. Still struggling to get to 8100 RPMS. Running polini variator with a mix of 4.9 and 5.5 g sliders. Stock bando with about 1300 miles on it. Lightened flywheel. With this same setup I used to be able to get to the rev limiter easily on a downhill or come close on a flat. Now I struggle to see 8100. New air filter. Recently cleaned carb but this RPM problem was the reason I cleaned it. Any more ideas? I'm out of them and really missing my normal power and 43-45 speed under good conditions.
