I just bought an 09 Ruckus with the commitment I'd get it running by myself. It turns over great, but, when I took the lid off the carb, I couldn't see any fuel. So, I emptied the gas tank and removed every piece of fuel line until I could tell where it was stopping. In the end, I just propped the gas tank up on the back of the Ruckus and ran the fuel line directly into the carb with no pump or filters, just to see if it was the carb. With the line just free, fuel poured out. With the line attached to the carb, nothing happened. When I poured a little fuel directly in the top of the carb, it cranked right up. Thus, based on that, it seems like something is clogged at that little intake port on the bottom of the carb. See pictures below and corresponding questions. In Pic 2, you can see where I ran the fuel line directly. With that connected, the thing turning over and me turning throttle, shouldn't I be able to see fuel down the carb in Pic 1? If so, what do I need to do to make that happen? I've seen a few carb repair threads, but all the images were dead (and I sure as heck need them). Any recommendations? Separately, In that third pic, what is that valve? What does it do? Which direction does it go? In the fourth, how do you know if you need a new fuel filter? Finally, how do I find out what parts I need and how when buying for this thing? I bet y'all have some favorite sites. Thank you very much.
