Hey guys, first post! I know *And have read posts like this here, and thinking myself unique in this situation decided to make my very own. Hope your sarcasm detectors are on SO I have pulled the trigger on a 2004 Ruck with about 4,500 KM on it. I already have a list of work I want to do ASAP, including a variator, belt, foot pegs, CDI, jets and air intake, all being relatively simple mods for me. Here's my situation. I'm a big & tall at 260lb (yea yea, bear riding a tricycle look), and I plan to just put around / drive to work with it. I'm from Hamilton, Ontario and I have to deal with "the mountain".. a 500ft escarpment that envelopes the city. Some of the hills are about 2-3km long with a 3-5% grade. Yikes! SO... which variator & weight combo is ideal for long, heavy hill climbs, while maintaining a healthy flat-road speed for regular distances? Thanks!! Happy ruck'ing!

Welcome.
Malossi or Polini are a safe bet with 6g Sliders to start and a Kevlar belt. I'd also consider some clutch mods to help with the hill climbs.
