I just bought a 06 BR that had been sitting for a while and cleaned the carb twice. I am quite certain it is fully clean, however ever since I got it I have not been able to get it to go over 45mph and up hills it looses speed to about 20mph. it just does not seem like it will keep the rpms up. it starts and idles fine but acceleration seems poor. I do not know what it could be. has anyone else had this experience?
also I put in a new spark plug with the proper gap and drained the gas tank just in case there was bad gas in it. Also, I am running a engine cleaner in the gas, which has not helped. I am at a loss. I hate to put it back together until I can come up with a solution.
When I put it on the larger kick stand it does not have any problem going form 0 to full throttle and higher rpms. it is just when under load that I am not able to get over 45. It just does not seem to want to rev properly and remains at very low rpm and speed. it does not smoke at all and when on the stand goes through the rpm range and speed fine. my problem is just under load? it just does not seem to have the power it needs to propel a driver. I would assume it is getting enough gas since it is fine on the stand. I thought about compression, but it does not smoke at all so I assume the rings are fine.
