I just got the Michelin Boppers...they look kind of whimpy/narrow so I'm going to try out the SL26s when these are worn

My opinion on the Boppers is that they look fat and mean on the rear but yes, kinda wimpy/narrow up front because the front tire size is a 120/90 and the rear is a 130/90. You can go with a 130/90 up front to restore the fat/mean look but it does mess up your speedometer a few percent, add a little weight and cause you to realize a smaller gain in handling. Still....a 130/90 does look quite a bit better so I'd probably roll with that if I was buying Boppers. Here's a couple Bopper pics with the regular sized tires:

Thats cool, but the guy at the honda shop said, he finds that they bloopers where out faster. Than the stocks. But I want to get a smoth tread, unlike the nobs. As I think even the stock tires suck off road, anyways. Compared to any dirt bike that is. I go off road alot but, I think I would still like a slick pattern, cause you have to go slow of road here anyways cause its so rocky. And the sleck tread, probly goes faster, and has beter handeling. Does anyone have pirelli tires? What do you link the best ON ROAD tires there are. And what size should I get them in, for that pitucular brand........thanks chris

And I tell people this every day, if you are riding off road on any scooter, you had beter whatch you fingers on the frount brakes, as I have seen so many people eat dirt just cause they squeezed the frount brakes harder than the back. And if you cant do that than when you go off road, just dont even use the frount brakes. As if the frount tire locks up you will be sliding and have a potentuall of smashing your leg, droping the bike. Or the allways dreaded,,,,,,,,BURN to your skin......I try to teach my wife something new everytime we ride. Cause you dont ever know if that little time could save you on day on the highway..................with all thoughs crazzy driver out there..

Seyaat,
My first Ruckus was a 2003 and after 9000miles my rear tire was totally bald in the center. The front tire still had probably half the tread left because all the weight is on the rear tire.
At 9000 miles I replaced the stock tires with Boppers and despite the rubber the seeming much softer and stickier, they lasted way longer. When I sold the Ruckus at 20,000 miles (11,000 on the Boppers) they still had about 30-40% of their tread left. I would say the stock tires are good for 10,000 miles max and the Boppers should be good for 15,000 miles.
I should also mention that I didn't really appreciate the stock tires ability in dirt, grass or snow until I had the Boppers which were dramatically worse. Now I think that the stock tires are a pretty good all around choice for grip. The Boppers are definately better on asphalt though because of their durability, cornering abilty and low rolling resistance.

Chanito on his boppers certainly wasn't keeping up with Me, Skuut and my bro on stock Kendas in the dirt. Of course, he had a hard time keeping up on any road involving turns. Hey that is not fair, those turns just keep ganging up on me

I mount the tires myself but I don't have a balance so I don't balance them. Do you guys get them balanced?

Ok i see they just want me to get the stock tires, cause they just dont even want to mess with aftermarket stuff, Cause the guy and the honda place here, said he is going to charge me an extra like $20-40 buks to put on tires, that are not stock. But I would rather get the aftermarket, if they handle better. Seriously they just dont like scooter's in general at the honda shop I go to. I get crappy seveice., I pay through the nose for it, and they can just get to me whenever it convenyent for me. Im a customer, too (Honda service punks) or mabey I should call honda and say that the local honda shop here is rewaning, there reputation. Because I think they have to pay, money, and odbided by cirtain, rules, of Honda, to be able to sell honda.....................I think the work is Franchise..........chris

Call the Better Business Bureau. I can see them charging more to change the tires if you brought in tires as opposed to buying the tires from them, but otherwise...
