It's not fun watching Joie work hard when your ride home hinges on it. Alas, he gave it his all but my Ruck still needed a visit to Alcoa. Dirty Rice has been doing well lately, and I've been stocking up on parts and mods. With the temps dropping and Fall fast approaching, I am ready to ride through the Smokies again. It looks like I may be solo on this trip since Carrie has to work. Luckily my new job won't interfere with my Ruckus Rallly plans. What mods have you guys made to your rides since the Summer ride?

On the cosmetic side...I removed my center stand for the PWJDM gangsta lean kickstand, added kajima grips, black tanex knockoff mirrrors with blue glass (they look so much better than the mickey mouse ears).
On the performance side...I shaved my drive face (now I can hit 50 downhill easy without floating valves), running little lighter rollers to help with hills (6.5 dp sliders now vs. 6.9 polinis) and have a daytona belt to install.
I also have a bunch of other parts that are taking so long to arrive from jiangwayne that I don't even remember what I ordered...lol!
Oh, I also have some boppers that need to be put on, but I have plenty of time for that!

Well I figured out what the problem with my Ruck...went onlong ride on Sunday with a few guys...and iy only seems to come one after many miles later in the day..and hitting speeds upwards of 50 mph.. The Ruck is overheating...since I don't run the speedo and don't have the overheat light hooked up..I can't confirm...but it's the only things that would lead me to believe this is the fact...sit for 10 mins or so...and will run fine until I hit the magical number again.. trying to run straight water with Water Wetter and hopefully that will be the case... but performance wise...it feels good and was running front of the pack all day.. Still on edge for the Smokies Ride...I'm signing on a condo at the end of the month and have to be pretty careful with my money for some time...but you know I wanna be there with all u guys !!!!!

Well, overheating would make sense with running hard then not being able to run hardly any.

ok.. been taking thru emails with a few members who went to summer ride..
skuuter.. in the next few weeks before the ride.. we should get a schedule going.. ride.. food.. nighttime food.. etc.. that way when we get there we could have more of an idea of what we are going to be doing.. we need the ride and after rides to be more scheduled.. everyone pitch in the first day for food/drink supplies.. someone goes to wallyworld and gets them.. that way when we get back from ride.. we can have stuff ready to prepare to get our eat on..

I'd have to agree with BRR on that. Especially with there being so many riders of varying degrees of skill and comfort, a solid plan(though not set-in-stone necessarily) will probably make for a more enjoyable weekend together. As for the food, I think we all pretty much agreed about that shortly after the Summer Rally. It's getting close so let's get planning.
