Hi Allrukdup, I was just giving you some ideas as what might be causing all your problems. It seems like you have tried all the possible causes to why it does not run right. I am by no means a expert on engines, all I know I have learned on here. Whatever is causing your problem is not a common cause of the problem. Sorry if you think I do not think you know what you are doing. I was just trying to help.

Hi scooterbill, I hope you did not take my last post as that I knew it all or that your comments/suggestions were not appreciated because I actually appreciate you taking time to post suggestions. I was just trying to communicate that I had some background in repair and was not shooting in the dark. I did not mean to offend you, after all, I came here and asked for advice. Sorry that my comments were not worded better...

It looks like I am finally getting somewhere. I had the afternoon off yesterday so I stripped the carb again and sprayed every port and orifice with carb cleaner and blew it out with compressed air (several times). Reassembled and inspected every part closely for problems....and it ran pretty well after that and topped out at 40 (down a slight hill). Slight flat spot midrange with part throttle and gonna see if opening the idle screw some will eliminate that flat spot.
Thanks for everyone's help and advice!!!

I think we got it! I tried fine tuning with the idle screw and most of the flat spot went away. Still seems to have a mild shudder at part throttle sometimes but for the most part it's all good. I never road it before the initial problem as it was not running when I bought it so don't really know if it had that flat spot from the get go...but it goes almost 45mph on a slight downhill and just over 40 on flat ground! I have street tires on it so that's probably helping with top speed... Thanks everyone!!!

Any specific spot you can recommend. I have had my carb apart several times even swapped it for an entirely different carb it still performs the same way. It starts, idles fine, when i get to about 20 it just basically cuts all power and rpms drop. Once warmed up (takes a long time 10 min of riding) it runs perfectly. any ideas? I have swapped carbs, testeed fuel pump, replaced filter, checked hoses, taken apart carb cleaned it several times now. I have a polini variator, and it did this before the new variator as well, not sure what is going on.

As an update, I ordered new slow speed jets. Put in 38 and it runs worse now sputters more and struggles to idle and start without giving it gas. Have the old slow speed soaking in carb cleaner and blown out with air compressor. Going to try putting that back in today. I am really running out of ideas with this ruckus. I have checked just about everything.
