I have a 2003 Ruckus. When I turn the key to start, a clicking noise comes from underneath the fuel tank and lasts for 15 seconds. It will then stop. When I push the button to start, it has trouble starting. When it does start, it only will want to idle. When I try to give it gas, it will want to die.
Can anybody help me diagnose what could be wrong with it. Any help would be appreciated. I am new to this board.
Well, before anything The noise you hear is the fuel pump running, that is normal, your problem seems to be gas related, get some gas aditive and add to the fuel, or just replace it with fresh gas ;D Let us know either way ;D
It might be time to invest on a new plug, those pesky one cyl motors have a tendency to be stubborn to run with a dirty spark plug, or maybe just take it out and clean the one you have, might be all you need for the engine to run properly
How do you clean a fuel filter? I thought this was something you just replace?
You blow against the normal flow, but in my opinion cleaning a filter should just be a temporary fix, replacing a dirty one is the correct way to do it, but if you are not sure, cleaning it might be a good diagnostic step, if it gets better, replace it, if it does not, then you have other problem
