Hi! After making a few seat covers for friends, I've decided to go public and offer my seat-cover making services to the rest of the world. I found this board through one of the moderators, and it is listed as a resource on my scooter page. The seat cover page went up today, and I'd love your feedback. And, of course, if you're looking for a seat cover for your Ruckus, please write to me (off list). Thanks! Crystal www.girlbike.com/seatcovers

Welcome to our site, i love your seat covers, but i think that a checkered pattern or a print with some beer logos would be more apealing to us than the flame patterns I read some of your post on the metro site and was very sorry about your accident but happy that you are ok and still scooting ;D ;D

I would agree with Chanito. I'd be more interested in something more subtle. I saw some on this Japanese site. These are more what I'm looking for. www.tokyo-parts.co.jp/zoomania/zoomania.htmlwhen you hit the site click, "custom seat" Ruckass

Hi, thanks to both of you for your replies, and the link to the Tokyo parts site. I appreciate the input! And that's why I'm offering custom service. If you see a design you like, just let me know, I can let you know if I can emulate it. I've had requests for loud designs, but there's nothing wrong with something more subtle. Or with beer cans.
The work on Toyko parts is impressive. It's different than what I do, they are refinished with permanent covers (upholstery) and some are reshaped (fronts cut down, backs raised up, etc), from what I can see. I used the Babelfish translater (http://world.altavista.com/babelfish) to see what it said. I love the flamed seat!
One thing I want to point out if you do get one of these is to be aware where they put the piping. If it is in the crook of your leg or other area where you sit, it can be quite uncomfortable for a long ride! Some of their designs have the piping in very non-comfortable looking places.
thanks again for your feedback.

Yeah the piping could be problematic. I think the little bit at the front wouldn't interfere and a little at the back would be ok. But anything that runs completely along the side would go under your legs and chaffe (check spelling).
So apart from material costs, what are your rates for making seat covers? I understand you make "covers" to go over top of the existing material but the original cover is simply stapled on, and quite poorly I might add. So would it be difficult to reapholster it?

Is this the kind of beer fabric you had in mind? cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8164201310Ruckus ready-made covers are $40 plus shipping (and tax if you're in Maryland). Please write to me off list if you have specific questions, have a particular fabric choice, want to send your own fabric, or have a special design in mind. I'm not sure how difficult it would be to re-upholster the Ruckus seat, although just taking a look at it, it seems pretty straight-forward. You may want to contact an upholsterer in your area that specializes in auto and sports-vehicle seats and get their opinion. Crystal

What do you think of camo fabric to match the camo Ruckus, both last year's and the 2005 gray camo?

Just ordered the Red Flames cover for my Red Ruckus. It will go along with the Flaming Skulls shirts I have found for my Mo'sickle Gang. That would be my suggestion for your next design. I'll need one each for a Reflex and a Vino 125 (not the Classic).
If you go to the Dennis Kirk website, and look at the apparel, you'll find T-shirts, Sweatshirts, Jackets, Hats, Do-Rags, Leathers, Helmets and even Boots with Flames, Skulls or combinations of the two.
Nothing strikes fear into the hearts of civilians like a bunch of almost-silent scooter riders zipping through their neighborhood with Flaming Skulls on their shirts.

all kinds of fabrics, or you can send your own, or tell me specifically what you're looking for and I try to find it. Go to the site, www.scooterseatcovers.com, and click on in-stock fabric samples to see what I have available.

I think I might need to find my own fabric. I need something that screams "I'm gonna kick your "edit profanity"!" But not really....I'm a lover, not a fighter.
