I already explained what a PCV system is in FAQ, but since nobody reads it, i am going to explained again Any internal combustion engine will have some hot gases from the combustion chamber leaking pass the piston rings into the crankcase, if left there they can create all sort of problems like raising the pressure inside the crankcase and the engine will start leaking oil anywhere it can, like seals and valve cover gaskets, and with time those vapor will react with the oil creating corrosive substances that can damage engine components, an easy solution was just venting those vapor into the atmosphere, but that is not very smart, so engine designers came up with what is call Positive Crankcase Ventilation, it is so called because it uses the positive (higher than atmospheric) pressure created in the crankcase to direct those gases into the intake to be burn, primitive systems like the one in the early (03-05) ruckus, just have one hose from the valve cover dumping those gases thru a metered orifice (it is there to create a pressure difference so it will not mess with the CV carb) into the filter housing, some of us who have remove the filter housing and installed after market filters have to just deal with the funky stumble after riding at high speed release the accel and get in the throttle again (one day i will have to install an old jet into the PCV hose, just too lazy to do it). Newer systems have a fresh air supply into the crankcase as this make the system way more efficient, the only problem is that you have to make sure that it supply fresh air and not allow vapor to return by sneaking the wrong way, so most cars have a pcv valve, which is a one way valve. and on the 06 ruckus is a sophisticated electronically control valve, that work wonderfully ::)If you do not get it now, i will whip you And read the freaking FAQ, that is why i wrote that
