 JETTING!
« Thread Started on Oct 29, 2009, 12:48am »

Ok I KNOW that there are tons of things about jetting,
but I'd just rather ask myself, ok so I have a 05 honda
ruckus which has been stock for awhile, I just put a
Dr. D exhaust on it and don't know what to rejet it to,
Dr. D didn't give me any ideas so my question is does
anybody know what I should jet it to? Or should I call
Dr. D? I live in Cedar City, Utah which is about 6000
feet whether it matters or not.

THANKS AND KEEP THE RUCKUS ALIVE!

Elevation does make a difference! Try the fuel mixture screw first. If not try 1 size bigger than the one in there now. If that is to rich then go one size smaller than the one it had in it to begin with. I have never heard of anyone needing a jet more than one size bigger or one size smaller than stock with just a exhaust.

There is a thread called "Adjusting the Ruckus/Metro carburetor in the Tunning section.

Luckily for you, your jetting will likely be close enough that it will run okay. You might lose a few mpg and 1 or 2 mph but nothing major. Your altitude means that you are a bit rich, so you'd want to go down a size (from 75 to 72) but the Dr. D pipe might increase flow a bit so the stock jetting is good. It's hard to say though without actually seeing the machine. Have a look at your plug and see if it's black (rich), white (lean) or tan (good).

Well i'm going to start playing with it tomorrow, as far as my idle
goes its perfect but when i gas it i can walk faster then it. I order
a jet kit from BOWLS so I guess I will just play around with it,
starting with only one size up and or down depending on rich
or lean. Thanks for the info!
