Hello. I am new to the Ruckus and new to this site, which really kicks arse. ;D Anyway I thought I would submit my buddy seat idea. It works great off road as well as on. The pieces needed are one (per Ruckus) Schwinn No Pressure bike Seat, two 1" metal conduit holders(purchase the thickest holders you can find. They are shaped like a J) and two Ruckus seat hinges (ordered from your dealer or on line). To install, all you do is, remove the Schwinn seat bracket , slip on the two hinge bushings and attach the two 1" conduit holders using the screws that came with the Schwinn seat. Now as you attach the conduit holders you need to position the Schwinn seat over the rear cross member of the seat frame. Then tighten the screws as hard as you can. If you apply black electrical tape to the cross member before slipping on the hinges bushings, the hinge bushings will not slide side to side. If you are wondering why I used conduit holders instead of the Honda seat hinges, is because the holders have a greater strength to support the weight on the seat. Hope this is useful to you guys wanted to take along a passenger. Here are some photos.

That is probably the best easy seat mod I've ever seen. Kudos.

You could use some good looking frame sliders and make them work double duty.

Yeah I put foot pegs on. They are mostly for the driver. But the passengers have to use them for safety. I feel more comfortable using the pegs , I am 6'4", so they help alot with the knees. And you look more cool using them. As cool a 6'4" guy can look on the Ruckus. But who cares these things are a blast! The foot peg install is easy .

On second thought I should have put this under mods..... sorry.... Nah. You added a part to it. Thus, aftermarket parts.

Yes it is possible to fall back if you sat on the back edge, but the seat it self will, if you will, seat it self into the Honda seat, thus leaning forward and preventing any mishaps. Now if you are the malicious type fellow, you could install a spring loaded release lever and , as you said, dump somebody. Remember this a quick cheap and easy buddy seat. I have another idea, but that invovles purchasing the 699.00 extended rack. Can you imagine 699.00 rack? Wow!

Thanks for the idea we did this today also and it works great.. It is a little bit different but the same basic Idea. We added a back rest off of my husband's motorcycle and it worked perfectly.

This is off the subject but where did you get that net under your seat? I've been looking all over for something like that and can't find one.

This looks like a great, affordable idea. I hate that I cant ride with anyone on my RUCKUS. Anyway, how is it riding with the extra weight?
